A new system is a big job inside your home. Here is exactly how our crew handles it, from the knock on the door to the walkthrough before we leave.
A few small things make install day go smoothly.
Make room from the door to your indoor unit and to the outdoor unit, so equipment can come in and out without bumping furniture.
If your system is in the attic, clear the area under the attic access. For closets, take out anything stored around the unit.
Plan a spot for pets away from open doors, and leave room in the driveway for our truck and trailer if you can.
We walk the job with you when we arrive and again before we leave, so plan to be there for both.
Your heating and cooling will be off for part of the day while we swap equipment.
If something on your proposal is unclear, call before install day. We would rather answer it ahead of time.
Every system is a little different, but this is the order our crew works in.
The lead installer reviews the job with you, confirms where the equipment goes, and answers any last questions.
We lay down floor protection along our path and cover the work area before anything is moved.
Refrigerant is pumped out with recovery equipment as federal rules require, never vented to the air.
Old indoor and outdoor units come out and leave with us.
The new furnace or air handler and coil go in, along with a new drain pan, condensate line and safety float switch where needed.
The new condenser or heat pump is leveled on its pad and connected.
Line sets are replaced or cleaned to match the new equipment, brazed with nitrogen flowing to keep the inside of the pipe clean.
The system is pressure tested for leaks, then pulled into a deep vacuum to remove moisture before refrigerant goes in.
Wiring, disconnect and thermostat are connected and checked.
We start the system, set the refrigerant charge to the manufacturer's specs, and check temperatures and airflow in heating and cooling.
Floor protection comes up, debris goes out, and the work areas are left clean.
We show you the thermostat and filter, answer questions, and go over your warranty and any TVA rebate paperwork.
The job is not done when the truck leaves.
Rebate eligibility set by TVA EnergyRight and your local power company.

Our installers treat your home like we would want ours treated, and every new system can be backed by our optional 10-year labor warranty.
Someone needs to be home when we arrive and for the final walkthrough. In between, you are welcome to come and go.
Yes, for part of the day while the old system is out and the new one goes in. On very hot or cold days we plan the swap to keep that time as short as we can.
Most system replacements in our area require a mechanical permit. We pull it when it is required and coordinate the inspection.
We haul it away. The refrigerant is recovered properly and the old equipment is recycled.
